Wild Lives Lives Here!

Wildlife Lives Here
8/5/2020

While reading in a patio chair
enjoying a warm afternoon breeze
a loud bang came all of a sudden from somewhere
like a gardener trying to cut down a tree
until I saw this little guy on the fence

(The tiny guy looks like an acorn woodpecker)

A new visitor showed upon the yard this morning

With an outfit
fit to attend a party
No idea what she’s after
not yet time for fruit season
Worms and insects plenty however

(The bird looks like a spotted towhee)

Blue bird is quite common around here
They are bigger in size and stronger
Way back in time, one blue bird
out of nowhere flew by and
snatched a piece of bread
Right out of the palm of my daughter‘s hand

(She was only three or four!)

The two young fawns are frequent guests in my backyard
Although not exactly invited or welcome

One of the fawns I saw earlier
simply sat there without changing position
when I took the camera out and took a picture
…………………………………………
Could have finished the sketch right there since
sight of people around didn’t seem to bother her one bit

這些野兔有無限多的分身

This little rabbit has many cohorts
Quietly they multiply and poke around
In the front of the house, or in the backyard,
busily eating the tender plants here and there
You can see them everywhere around the house

Flock of wild turkeys swiftly running by
They are not migrant birds. Yet I saw them
here in spring, in summer and in autumn again,
Even during thanksgiving time, but not on dinner tables

A hummingbird rested on the tip of a dry branch

On a cloudy day
Pair of hawks gliding over in the sky
where the neighborhood trail is located
I have yet to see more than 3 birds hovering over
In the vicinity,  guess I should call it their territory
