Life in Taipei in the time of Covid-19
3/17/2020

This is what was like in Hong Kong back in 2003
under the thick stormy clouds of SARS.  In the shopping mall
almost everyone was wearing a mask
Here’s the
“Three masketeers”

That was then, this is now
Here I am in Taipei
I put on a face mask with a pair of huge sunglasses
under my wide brim hat
Wrapped my neck several layers
with a scarf
before I step out of the door

Long lines in front of the pharmacy dispensing facial masks
You can’t even see name of Pharmacy at the end

Here’s a sketch of the face mask waiting line

This is what gets put on dinner table
the first few days initially
after my arrival
in Taipei

This is what I had for breakfast this morning at my quarter
A cup of drip coffee without sugar or cream
One or two small scone & a rice roll
Plus my daily dosage of medication and supplements

Two birds strolling on top of the
Seveillance camera
Trying to detect crumbs or food bits to eat

Appearing from balconies of apartment buildings in alleys
An assortment of colorful banners in full display
